Frequently Asked Questions

General

  • We are a full service landscape company. We provided all landscaping services, including hardscapes, outdoor lighting, and irrigation, along with full maintenance, and turf management.

  • Yes. Our estimates are free, but if a more thorough design is needed, we can supply that for an additional cost.

  • We accept all major forms of credit cards, as well as cash, or check.

Landscaping

  • Hard pruning (cutting off more than ⅓ of the plant) should be done in the winter, after a few freezes, but before spring warm up. This is the safest time to do any hard pruning. Throughout the rest of the year, you can prune as needed as long as you remove no more than ⅓ of the plant.

  • New sod should be watered at least twice a day, every day for the first two weeks. The third week should be once a day. The fourth week, every other day. After 4 weeks, you should be able to resume regular watering.

  • New plants should be watered three times per week, for an hour per zone, if on a drip system. If no drip system is in place, they should be hand watered at least three times per week. Rainy days count as irrigation days, so a week with two days of rain should only need 1 day of hand watering.

  • Tilling, fertilizing, and adding soil amendments are all things we do when we plant new landscape plants. This is to provide a good growing environment for your new plants. Unfortunately, this also provides a good environment for weeds to sprout. Pre-emergent herbicides can help control these weeds, but the best control.

Maintenance

  • While we strive to give each customer a day that works for them, we have to schedule around availability and location. Weather also plays a factor in scheduling, which can cause changes to have to be made.

Turf Management

  • Once our treatments are dry, they are safe for re-entry of pets, and/or animals. This length of time can vary depending on the conditions and day of the week, but typically after an hour, everything is dry and safe for re-entry.

  • Every treatment we apply can be watered-in the same day as the treatment. Herbicides need 3-5 hours to set on the plant before watering, while fertilizer and pre-emergent benefit from being watered-in. Typically you can water the night after our treatment and be safe.

  • It is best practice to wait two days after a treatment to mow your grass.
